Lighting Designer
The responsibilities of the lighting designer are to work with the creative team to come up with ideas, Design the lighting for performances, attend technical rehearsals, Write a lighting plot/script to note where there are any lighting changes, and many more responsibilities. Their main job is to create a suitable design for performances while thinking about conflicting factors of energy usage and the safety of others.
Lighting Programmer
The responsibility of the lighting programmer is to take the lighting design created by the designer and program it into their theatre software to visualize the design in all of the creatives onto the stage.
Lighting Operator
The responsibilities of a lighting operator are to during a show press any lighting cues they may need, to make the show run smoothly. They must also carry out risk assessments to make sure the number of lights doesn't exceed the safe working load.
Lighting Technician
The responsibilities of a lighting technician are to take care of all of the lighting fixtures, making sure they function properly and are ready with any gobos or colour fills needed for a performance.
Follow Spotter
The responsibility of the Follow spotter is to make sure their light is on at the correct time and on the correct actor. They may also help set lighting fixtures to the right intensity.
